Philips Electronics recently predicted that the growth rate of global LED lighting equipment market scale will exceed 30 percent in the next three years. It will increase from about 700 million euros in 2007 to 1.5 billion in 2010.

After merging a number of related companies like Lumileds, TIR, Color Kinetics, Partners and Lighting Company, and Genlyte recently, Philips has now covered the entire value chain of solid-state lighting. The company also provided the world's first full use of LED lighting solutions for Assicurazioni Generali’s office in 100 Champs Elysees St, Paris.
